Thank you to all of the folks who have agreed to continue serving on the ONA board and those with either renewed or new interest in ONA. It's very exciting to see. It's also great to see FOOP taking excellent care of our park. Well done guys!

Oakhurstians:
Please join us for a District 9 candidate forum hosted by ONA on April 15th at 6:00 pm at Calvary Christian Academy cafeteria, 1401 Oakhurst Scenic Dr, Fort Worth. The candidates will have a window of time to tell us about themselves and their goals for our district. We will follow with a question and answer session and then wrap up the evening.
Please be respectful of spacing and wear your mask.
See you all there.

A message from ONA President Chanin Scanlon:
Oakhurstians: Attached please find the ballot for the April 13th ONA election held in Oakhurst Park.
Please make sure your dues are paid either prior to or at the drive-by voting between 3-7 pm or you will not be able to cast your vote. Hopefully this is the beginning of future ONA face-to-face meetings. Also, a reminder that we have some fantastic items that we are raffling. The winning tickets will be drawn at the conclusion of the meeting. You do not have to be present to win but you will need to keep your ticket stub to validate your win.
Of note, we have two outstanding candidates who are running for the position of Newsletter Editor, Jennifer Eggleston and Ted Bauer, I am copying their qualifications below for your review. Please vote for only one candidate. As always, write-in candidates are welcome. You can drop your ballot off in the park on April 13th and grab some dinner from one of our beloved food trucks. Thank you to all who were interested in running this year as well as those who agreed to stay on another year. It is truly appreciated.
Please see Jennifer's and Ted's qualifications below:
Jennifer Eggleston: Previously, I was the webmaster for ONA, and I’ve worked in communications, marketing, and community outreach for more than 20 years. From Pier 1, TCU, and my current position as director of Family Communications for Fort Worth ISD, I believe my skill set for editor of the ONA Newsletter is unique and perfectly matched.
Ted Bauer: I moved to Fort Worth in 2014. I'm originally from NYC. Been in Oakhurst with my wife, Katie, since September of 2020. I've been a freelance writer since 2015, and I frequently write newsletters for different brands and individuals, including my own (Context of Things). Familiar with all software required and want to turn The Leaflet into a must-read for our awesome community. Previously worked at ESPN, PBS, McKesson, and more.
Oakhurst neighbors, this month's issue of The Oak Leaflet is now available online! You'll find a membership form, Chanin's President's Message, our latest COPs report, information on the Oakhurst Walk of Honor, how to protect plants during freezing weather, and more.
All:
We are pleased to announce a new beginning for ONA meetings...sort of. We are planning a drive-by or drop by meeting where you can join ONA, vote on officers, visit a food truck, and participate in a raffle (ONA members only) for some pretty appealing items. The come and go meeting will be held in Oakhurst Park, April 13th from 3-7 p.m. Remember, dues are $20 per person not household.
The Nominating Committee has lined up candidates for the 2021-2022 year, but write-in candidates are certainly welcome. Thank you Janice Michel, Linda Baley, Fran Burns, Trisha Moore and Kathryn Omarkhail for your service on the Nominating Committee. As for the members only raffle, we will draw tickets for the following items - One bottle of Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey; three bottles of Washington wine; one bottle of Gruet Brut Champagne; one bottle of Balcones Lineage Texas Single Malt whiskey; one commissioned portrait of your Oakhurst home by Debra Warr (seriously, these are awesome!); one Juan Gonzales autographed baseball bat, and one Juan Gonzales autographed baseball. We may get a couple more items for the raffle before the meeting, but this is what is up for grabs as of this announcement. Raffle tickets are to be designated for a specific item and if purchased the day of the meeting, your ticket will be placed in the appropriate container. For early ticket purchases, email me president@oakhurtfw.org or text 817-757-9977 and let me know who you are and how many tickets you want to purchase for a particular item. We take cash only. You can drop by and place your ticket funds in my locking mailbox at 2067 W. Lotus Avenue. Make sure you indicate which item you want your ticket funds to go to, otherwise it may get placed with the wrong gift. You do not have to be present to win, but you do need to keep your ticket stub to claim your prize. Tickets are $1 each.I am not sure which food trucks will be at the park, but thank you Celestina Blok for coordinating those little gems.
Looking forward to seeing you a bit more, Oakhurst.
